With the price of 1 Euro, a lot of buyers cannot stop themselves not to buy less. The more they touched any merchandises (in fact, it is an art piece), the more they wanted to buy some more. We can tell by seeing so many kids grabbed Digimon masks and put them on their happy faces after they saw them no longer than 5 seconds. A lady grabbed a pink-white-green toilet brush without hesitate and paided Surasi 1 Euro very quickly.
Within one hour, the show was over. Museum-goers went to see other art works in this museum with their handful and happy faces. Kids with Ultraman mask, a teenager lady with an orange-green-blue plastic bag and a young man with a Batman balloon model in his full hands gathered around and exchanged comments on each other stuffs.
Surasi's work was intended to let people know that they can buy cheap art pieces in the art museum instead of invaluable painting which they cannot afford. With the power of "art", an artist can change an art museum into a Sunday market. At the same time, people who come to see art pieces in any museum of art normally do not allowed to touch any works, but in this work, they can touch and bring the ones they like home.
Not only 2 artists that participated in this event, a young generation of Thai movie director, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, was invited to work here in the artist-in-residence program of the Palais de Tokyo. The goal of this program was set to support any invited artists from around the world to work together here in Paris for 6 months.
Without any work asked in return from this grant, Apichatpong is now in the process of developing his next movies. He has been working on the 2 movie scripts created with his Japanese friend working closely in Paris. At the same time, he brought his latest movie, Sud-sa-nair-har, with him and kept working on the post production process in Paris since he got another grant to support it. He planned to give his latest movie a premier show in Thailand in the next 2 months. With the support from the committee of this grant, he now can spend times to finish his movie and to start his new projects here.

Apichatpong does not limited his name best known in the film society only. In the art community, his video art works have been shown in several galleries around the world. His next show of video art will be held in Sweden in the next few more months. He said he would have been enjoy doing a video art more than making films since he has more freedom, ideas and grant supports. Even though he has gained several supports and attentions from art institutions, but now he feels that making movies make him feel much more fulfillment. Many supports, from art side for his video art, unlimited his ideas but limited his freedom to live. Since he had set one of his goals by making a few Thai films a year, living with a small grant will limited his opportunity to do that. So now he plans to have a very serious business in Thailand which will create some good opportunities for him to create Thai movies.
